    G-Shock Athlete Nigel Sylvester

    DOB: August 23, 1987
    Hometown: Queens, New York

With a riding style formulated in the streets of New York City and on display around the world, Nigel Sylvester is a rising star in the world of sports and widely recognized as one of the premier athletes in BMX.

Nigel was born in Jamaica, Queens on August 23, 1987 and began his love of riding at age five in his grandmother's driveway. Nigel credits the neighborhood where he grew up for teaching him a lot about life at an early age in addition to giving him his start on a bike.

Nigel developed a love for the sport of BMX through his years at P.S. 132 Elementary School and Benjamin Cardozo High School. From there, Nigel worked long hours towards becoming a professional rider and continued to draw on the influences of other great BMX riders like Dave Mirra, Edwin De La Rosa, Matt Hoffman and Ralph Sinisi.

Nigel continued to form his skills riding on the streets and parks of New York City before he turned pro. While New York doesn't feature a multitude of skate parks for riders, Nigel still considers it his favorite place to ride in the world.

Nigel has continued to captivate audiences with his impressive array of tricks and innovative street riding. With a highly successful series of YouTube videos, which have collectively amassed over 10 million views and partnerships with several global brands, Nigel is one of the most visible links between the action sports world and the mainstream consumer market, as well as one of action sports most positive role models.

"When I'm out riding my bike I need a timepiece that compliments me" says Nigel Sylvester. "G-Shock watches perform well under the extreme conditions in which I ride and look good when I'm just chilling off my bike as well."
